Join us for the launch of the Encyclopedia of Socceroos near you!

We're very excited to let you know of the launch events for the Encyclopedia of Socceroos.

We're kicking-off in Sydney at Club Marconi on Friday 25 May. Why? Because Marconi is the club with most number of players who were playing with the club at the time of their appearance for the Socceroos in 'A' internationals. Andrew tells us 5.2% of all player appearances from Marconi.

Likewise, in Melbourne, we're heading to South Melbourne on Tuesday 29 May. Not only are they the leading club from Victoria (to date), but they are the number two in Australia. 5.0% of all player appearances in 'A' internationals have been by players based at South Melbourne.

Later in the same week, we're off to Ipswich where the Ipswich/Brisbane launch is being hosted by the Mayor of Ipswich on Thursday 31 May at the Corporate Centre of the Ipswich City Council. Why Ipswich? Our first Socceroos captain, Alex Gibb, was a local (via Scotland and Ireland) and the region has been vitally important to Australia's football history and development.

But don't take our word for all this!

Come along to one of the launch events - entry is free - and hear from the 'stats guru', author Andrew Howe, himself.

Andrew will be giving a short presentation on some of the fascinating and interesting aspects of the Encyclopedia, with special relevance to the area.

The launch events are open to all; as we mentioned, it's free; and it would be great if you could join us.

To register, please go to our Events page.

By the way, for Adelaide people, of course you're not forgotten. We're just waiting to hear from the venue about the date but it will be June 4, 5 or 6.

And Newcastle - we love you, but ... try as we might, we haven't been able to find a partner venue so far. It's a pity considering Newcastle's football (and especially) Socceroos history. If you have any thoughts on this, just email us and we'll go from there.

On another note, in case you missed it on social media, we were able to get together with Andrew and contributor, Ray Gatt, earlier in the week to give each of their own, numbered 'Souvenir Edition' of the Encyclopedia. The 100-limited 'Souvenir Edition' are individually numbered, with every purchaser listed in the back of the book.
