#AuthorsforFireys
What a time it's been for our country.
Last week, we included links on our blog to how those of us away from the fires can help those of us who are affected by them: individuals, families, fire fighters, farmers, wildlife.
This week Fair Play Publishing and our wonderful authors have joined #AuthorsforFireys.
Please read on while we explain what it is and how you can be involved.
Authors, writers and publishers are offering books or their writing services in exchange for a donation to help bushfire relief - and our authors are no different.
How does it work? It's a Twitter auction and you can check out the explanation from the organisers here.
If you want to purchase one of our books, we've put each one* up for individual auction bids, as well as The Lot (pictured above) via our Twitter account @fairplaybooks.
To bid, you need to reply to the relevant tweet with your bid in Australian dollars. Bidding continues on that thread (in increments of $1 Australian dollar or more) until the auction end time - which in our case is Friday 10 January at 6pm AEDT.
Make your bid on the original item thread only. (ie. If you see an item quote-tweeted, do not bid there.)
When the auction has ended, we will message the highest bidder on the thread, who then donates directly to the organisation of their choice via this link.
Send us the proof of donation, and we'll post you the book (or books).
In case you've missed the tweets, we've made it easy for you and are including the links below.
If you're not on Twitter, email us at sales@fairplaypublishing.com.au with your offer and we'll include it on Twitter for others to see ... and bid against!
