Ange Postecoglou and Australian football

Ange Postecoglou and Australian football

"I always win a trophy in my second season...

💅 We all knew that, of course, but so many scoffed when he said it early in the 2024-25 season.

So, today, after Tottenham's 1-0 win over Manchester United in the final of the Europa League, it's hard not to feel, as an Australian football fan, if not a sense of pride, then certainly admiration for Ange Postecoglou. Spurs supporter or not.

In tribute to the achievement of winning a major European title — one for the "true believers," as Ange himself said, quoting former Prime Minister Paul Keating — we share our books that mention  Ange Postecoglou.

The point is that his contribution to football extends beyond his personal story, or the trophies he has accumulated in four countries as both a player and a manager. His role in our game and his influence have spanned decades, from the worst of times to the best of times and the bits in between

And it's not over either, not for Ange, and not for us. In our upcoming football books, such as Paul Murphy's Socceroos in Scotland, Ange continues to rate a mention or two!

Browse our range, learn more about the history, culture, and stories of Australian football, and piece together the jigsaw of Ange Postecoglou's role in it. Truly today, he can and should be considered the first among equals.
