Who is Charyl Chappuis?

Chances are that most Australian football fans are not familiar with midfielder Charyl Chappuis, yet he is one of the best-known footballers from Thailand, one of our Asian Football Confederation neighbours.

Born in Kloten, Switzerland, in 1992, Charyl was a world champion with his country of birth when the Swiss won the U-17 World Cup in Nigeria in 2009. After his performances at that tournament, the offers came rolling-in, including from Juventus - twice! - but four years later he moved to Thailand, his mother's home country.

Charyl's autobiography, written with Bangkok-based journalist Paul Murphy, charts his rise to stardom with the Thailand national team and the impact of a career-threatening injury just as his career was hitting new heights. His determination ensured there was much more to his story in the years to come.

Chappuis—My Story is a captivating narrative of resilience, success, and an undying love for the game. It provides readers with a rare opportunity to glimpse into the life of an Asian football icon.

It is yet another #reallygoodfootballbook from us - Australia's biggest publisher of football books.
