With the Paris Olympics just ten days away, it's time to highlight our two Olympic books published this year.

The first, released in March, is an autobiography of 1980 Gold Medalist Michelle Ford, in Swimming, Turning the Tide, written with Craig Lord.  The second, Ladies First by Ashley Morrison, released last month, is also an incredible story of an otherwise forgotten team: the 1988 Seoul Olympics Gold Medal winners in women's hockey. 

 

Our latest book is another Olympics non-fiction about some forgotten Gold Medalists, the 1988 Australian Women's Hockey team. Ladies First - The Story of Australia's First Olympic Hockey Gold Medal is a compelling account of the remarkable journey undertaken by the Australian women's hockey team at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games.

One of our books has been shortlisted for the prestigious Football Book of the Year as part of the 2024 Sports Book Awards sponsored by Charles Tyrwhitt in association with The Sunday Times. We are thrilled for author Sally Freedman and her book, "Get Your T*ts Out for the Lads". 

Earlier this month on International Women's Day we released three books which further demonstrate our commitment to women: women in sport, women in football, women in business and, of course, women in literature and publishing.

"I am woman, Hear me roar" is the inspiration for Hear Us Roar - an anthology of emerging women football writers which comprises 17 stories from women in 11 countries with contributions that relate to player interviews, the business of football, women’s football development, fiction, and personal stories.

​Shirley Singh was in Fiji with her husband attending a family wedding when she received a 'phone call to return to Australia immediately. The reason? Three of her four children had been murdered. It was 22 April 2003. 

Our latest guests for the Football Writers' Festival are the three winners of the Emerging Women Writers program as part of the 2023 Football Writers' Festival.
