Have you seen the international speaker line-up for the 2023 Football Writers' Festival?
In a word, it's stellar!
Even those who squat on social media taking side swipes at anything positive in football could find nothing negative to say. (Must have been a sad day for them).
From Ireland, Scotland, England, France, Germany, Denmark, Nigeria, Argentina, USA and Canada, we will not see another international line-up like it, so if you've been thinking 'I must get along to a Football Writers' Festival one day' this is the year to do it.
Just days before kick-off of the opening match between Australia and Ireland, three days of football, writing and ideas for readers, writers, thinkers and dreamers.
There are five themes for the festival:
- Hear Us Roar!
- First Nations Football curated by Emeritus Professor John Maynard
- That's a Fact
- Big Ideas
- Football Stories
- The first, a Happy Hour and Hypothetical at the Wharf 2 Theatre, with the Hypothetical hosted by Nick Harris.
- The second, a Dumpling, Taco and Trivia night at Pier One Harbourside, with the Trivia hosted by Murray Shaw.
Early Bird ticket packages are now available until 17th March. Take a look at them here, and make sure you get in early!
