Stuart Thomas's When Mum and Dad See Me Kick is a series of short stories profiling how ten 'ordinary' people got into football and the difference it has made in their lives. It's funny, sad, and sweet. It will make you laugh, cry, and feel the injustice suffered by some. And it will perhaps remind you why you love football too.
Mark Bowman's The Yawning Giant is more football fiction...or is it? It's a sliding doors football tale which starts on that infamous night at the MCG on 29th November 1997 and rolls through the next 20 years to 2017. An alternative universe, an alternative narrative, but much the same people with some familiar names making appearances.
