50 years of being a sports journalist

50 years of being a sports journalist

Our second release for April is Hell for Leather by respected retired sports journalist, Phil Wilkins.

Phil started his career as a police roundsman but transitioned to sport - after a brief career playing rugby in New Zealand - working with both the (former) Fairfax Media and News Limited. He won a Walkley Award for outstanding journalism in 2004 and is now happily retired, and still reporting, from the mid north coast of NSW.

Hell for Leather is Phil's autobiography and traces not just Phil's life but more than 50 years of Australian sporting history. Cricket, rugby league, Aussie Rules, rugby, football, racing, tennis.

If you have an interest in Australia, Australian sporting history, and multi-sports, Hell for Leather is a terrific and intimate read written in idiosyncratic Phil Wilkins' style, as well as a trip down memory lane.
