In the Spotlight
50 years ago, on November 13th 1973, the team we now know as the Socceroos made their first ever World Cup when Jimmy Mackay scored the winner against South Korea in Hong Kong that took us to West Germany 1974. Emeritus Professor John Maynard's two volume Socceroos - A World Cup Odyssey traces the history of the Socceroos qualifying campaigns for the quadrennial tournament. Volume 1 contains 1965 to 2002; Volume 2 covers 2006 to 2022. A 'must have' football history book for true believers.
